Most commonly autosomal dominant, but also autosomal recessive as well as x-linked.

Pathology- failure of apical ectodermal ridge.

Association- isolated- non- syndromic.

Syndromic- Robert’s syndrome, EEC(Ectrodactyly,Ectodermal dysplasia and cleft lip).

Findings- absent central digits with deformed and/or syndactyly of remaining digits, giving a V shaped central defect.

D/D- oligodactyly, constricting amniotic bands.
